A cover for a bed base is often called a bed skirt, bed base cover, or box spring cover. These covers are designed to wrap around the bottom of your bed, hiding the bed frame or box spring and adding a finished look to your bedroom. Some styles, like wrap-around bed skirts or fitted bed base covers, also help keep dust from collecting under the bed. You’ll find options in different fabrics, colors, and fits, so you can match your decor and keep your bed looking tidy.

While both base covers and base wraps are used to cover the lower part of your bed, there are some differences:

• Base covers are typically fitted, covering all sides of the box spring or bed base for a smooth, tailored look.
• Base wraps are usually elasticized and designed to wrap around the sides, making them easy to put on and remove without lifting the mattress.

The choice depends on your style preference and how often you want to remove or wash the cover.

You have several options for covering the bottom of your bed:

• Bed skirts add a decorative touch and hide the bed frame or any items stored underneath.
• Box spring covers fit snugly over the box spring for a clean, modern look.
• Wrap-around bed skirts are stretchy and easy to install without removing the mattress.

Each option can help keep dust away and give your bed a polished appearance.

Many bed base covers are designed to fit standard bed frames, but some styles—especially those with stretchy or wrap-around designs—can work with adjustable beds. It’s important to check the product details for compatibility with adjustable bases. Look for covers with elastic edges or flexible fabric that can move with the bed’s adjustments. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to avoid interfering with the bed’s movement.

To help your bed base cover stay put, try these tips:

• Choose a cover with elastic edges or a fitted design for a snug fit.
• Make sure the cover matches your bed’s size and depth.
• Smooth out any wrinkles after installation and tuck in excess fabric if needed.
• For extra hold, some people use non-slip pads or double-sided tape under the cover, but always check the fabric care instructions first.

Regularly adjusting the cover can also help keep it looking neat.
