It's a little slow with first use, after that it cranks that ice out. I got it last night and have filled 2 gallon bags full in addition to getting ice out when needed. This is very quiet. The little nuggets stay frozen longer in your drink. Also, ice lovers this is much better on your teeth!

I have bought several icemakers and this by four beats all of them and I love the self cleaning option and the nugget ice is really nugget ice. I bought this on sale but after using it I wish I had paid full price and bought it earlier that's just how much I love this icemaker. Buy it and you won't be disappointed.

You can keep it running until you get the amount you need. Be sure to break up the ice soon after removing from basket. I let it drain in colander then dump in plastic storage container. It will still stick together so use ice pick to break up into smaller clumps so final hard freeze won't be one big lumpy ice brick. You'll figure out what works for you. I had wondered if nuggets would block Yeti-like cup opening like larger ice cubes do, but they don't. They just pass through which makes the ice machine worth it.
