It's multifunctional. Its ability to sear then take the same pan and insert it into its base to finish cooking. I have an induction burner so it's not compatible. It's very light weight and bigger than the avg. 8 qt. About 10.5 inches tall. It doesn't not require scrubbing because of its nonstick finish but a soft wash cloth or soft side of a sponge. The reviews warn about holding the pot by its lid when traveling, you're supposed to carry it by its handles that the lid sits in. Would absolutely recommend!

This is the best slow cooker I have ever owned. The inner pot is lightweight compared to the traditional slow cooker inner pot. And it's the easiest to clean. No scrubbing - just wipes clean. The locking lid is perfect for traveling. I bought this to cook a turkey breast an it was plenty big and cleaned up so easy. This slow cooker is now my go to for everything.
