It's multifunctional. Its ability to sear then take the same pan and insert it into its base to finish cooking. I have an induction burner so it's not compatible. It's very light weight and bigger than the avg. 8 qt. About 10.5 inches tall. It doesn't not require scrubbing because of its nonstick finish but a soft wash cloth or soft side of a sponge. The reviews warn about holding the pot by its lid when traveling, you're supposed to carry it by its handles that the lid sits in. Would absolutely recommend!

Lightweight Liner Programmable Crockpot

I've owned many crockpots over my lifetime and this one is by far my favorite. The number of options are wonderful, but my favorite part of all is that the crockpot liner is lightweight and made of a nonstick surface. All of the crockpots that I've owned before came with the standard stoneware liner, which is extremely heavy and not a nonstick surface. I realize that nonstick surfaces are getting a bad rap these days but at my current age, over 60, having a lightweight liner is a wonderful thing. I used this crockpot several times through the holidays and it has been a joy every time I've used it. Well done.!
