It's multifunctional. Its ability to sear then take the same pan and insert it into its base to finish cooking. I have an induction burner so it's not compatible. It's very light weight and bigger than the avg. 8 qt. About 10.5 inches tall. It doesn't not require scrubbing because of its nonstick finish but a soft wash cloth or soft side of a sponge. The reviews warn about holding the pot by its lid when traveling, you're supposed to carry it by its handles that the lid sits in. Would absolutely recommend!

A good seal to the lid ease of chord storage and great to use for transport. Good value. Recipes for all meats can be used including a short steam cook w salmon and ease to follow desert cooking. You can make rice.
