It's multifunctional. Its ability to sear then take the same pan and insert it into its base to finish cooking. I have an induction burner so it's not compatible. It's very light weight and bigger than the avg. 8 qt. About 10.5 inches tall. It doesn't not require scrubbing because of its nonstick finish but a soft wash cloth or soft side of a sponge. The reviews warn about holding the pot by its lid when traveling, you're supposed to carry it by its handles that the lid sits in. Would absolutely recommend!

This is one of the best crockpots I've ever had. It cooks really well real easy to use. I love that it's got a thing on the back that you can put the cord around and the cord is long enough to reach the outlet. I would recommend it to anyone that was interested in a crockpot it is a great one cooks evenly.
