It's multifunctional. Its ability to sear then take the same pan and insert it into its base to finish cooking. I have an induction burner so it's not compatible. It's very light weight and bigger than the avg. 8 qt. About 10.5 inches tall. It doesn't not require scrubbing because of its nonstick finish but a soft wash cloth or soft side of a sponge. The reviews warn about holding the pot by its lid when traveling, you're supposed to carry it by its handles that the lid sits in. Would absolutely recommend!

Need a very good crock pot that holds more than the typical one that is highly reviewed but not at a high price. Upon my research I came across the brand Greenpan. Walmart had the best price and made the purchase. Got this mainly for Thanksgiving but I think it will replace all our old crockpots. So far so good!
