RGB on RAM sticks refers to built-in lighting features that allow the memory modules to display different colors and lighting effects. These lights can often be customized using compatible software, letting you match your PC's aesthetic or create unique patterns. While RGB lighting doesn't affect the actual performance of your RAM, it can add a stylish look to your desktop setup. If you prefer a more subtle appearance, non-RGB options are also available. Always check if your case has a clear side panel to showcase RGB lighting for the best effect.

Mixing different RAM sizes or brands is possible, but it's important to consider a few things. Your motherboard should support the total amount of memory you're installing, and the RAM modules should be the same type (like DDR4 or DDR5). While mixing sizes and brands can work, it may not always provide the best performance or stability. For the smoothest experience, try to use identical sticks in terms of speed, size, and brand. If you decide to mix, make sure to install the modules according to your motherboard's recommended configuration for optimal results.

• Turn off your computer and unplug it from the power source.
• Open the side panel of your desktop case to access the motherboard.
• Locate the RAM slots and gently push the clips at each end outward.
• Align the notch on the RAM module with the slot and press down firmly until the clips snap into place.
• Close the case, plug the computer back in, and power it on. Your system should automatically detect the new memory.

If you’re unsure, check your motherboard’s manual for specific instructions or consult a professional for assistance.

Upgrading to higher speed RAM can help your computer handle demanding tasks more efficiently, especially if you use applications like gaming, video editing, or multitasking with many programs open. Faster RAM can improve data transfer rates, which may lead to smoother performance in certain scenarios. However, the overall benefit depends on your processor and motherboard compatibility. Before upgrading, check your system’s specifications to ensure it supports higher speed memory. While not every user will notice a dramatic difference, those running intensive applications often see the most improvement.
