Choosing the right size exercise ball depends on your height and how you plan to use it. Here’s a quick guide:

• Under 5’4”: Try a 55 cm ball.
• 5’4”–5’11”: A 65 cm ball usually works well.
• 6’ and taller: Consider a 75 cm ball.

When you sit on the ball, your knees should be at a right angle with your feet flat on the floor. If you’re using the ball for yoga, Pilates, or physical therapy, following these guidelines can help you get the most comfortable and effective workout.

Many athletic balls, like soccer balls, volleyballs, and playground balls, are designed for both indoor and outdoor use. However, it’s a good idea to check the product details for any specific recommendations. For outdoor play, look for balls with durable, weather-resistant materials. Exercise balls can be used outside on clean, flat surfaces, but avoid sharp objects or rough terrain to help prevent damage. Bringing the ball inside after use can help extend its lifespan.

Most athletic balls come with a pump or can be inflated using a standard ball pump. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Insert the pump needle or nozzle into the ball’s valve.
2. Inflate slowly, checking the ball’s firmness as you go.
3. For exercise balls, stop when the ball feels firm but still has a little give when you press it.
4. For sports balls, follow the recommended pressure listed on the ball or packaging.

Over-inflating can cause damage, so it’s best to inflate gradually and check frequently.

To clean your ball, use a soft cloth or sponge with mild soap and warm water. Gently wipe the surface to remove dirt and sweat. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, as these can damage the material. After cleaning, let the ball air dry completely before storing it. Regular cleaning can help keep your ball in good condition and ready for your next workout or game.
