Great Inverter Generator
Purchased the 3400-Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator as an emergency backup for critical appliances and internet in case of SCE power shut-off. Also for future use with an RV. Very pleased with the electric start, quiet operation and long run time on propane. Added a Reliance Through-the-wall inlet to provide a clean installation and easy connection to extension cords. Only issue was I needed a custom cable to connect between the inlet receptacle and the generator.
Easy to set up and very quiet product. Recommended to a family member and he bought one too.
Champion won our vote
We are going to use our Generator/Inverter while camping, for our 30 amp travel trailer, and also if our electric goes out at home. We looked for over a year for the right one. We are very satisfied with this unit. It is very quiet, esp. on economy mode. We were surprised to see it was able to run all the lights in our camper and the AC at the same time, ON ECONOMY! We do not plan, at this time, to use it with gasoline, we want to use just propane. We definitely recommend this unit.
Champion Dual Fuel Generator TOO COOL!
Bought the Dual Fuel Generator Model 100263 for my 32 foot RV, it easily powered all. Beyond camping this will be a back-up in my driver for Hurricane season. Love this model, may not need gas at all, have several Propane tanks that can keep me cool and running. Design is great, easy to start (electric starter) has 30 amp RV plug, 2 120v plugs and even a lighter plug for charging mobile devices.Bonus is the ability to add a parallel generator for the future. Did I say I love this generator? I do!
So far so good.
I purchased this generator to use with my camper. When it first arrived the regulator for propane hookup was broken. It appears that I am not the only person this has happened too. But a call to Champion and they sent out a new one. I ran it on gas for the 5 hour breakin. During this time it easily powered my camper, lights, ac, fridge. Hopefully I will get to give it a real trial run soon.
Environment friendly powerful inverter
As my first generator inverter, I was surprise how quite it was and how well built it felt. Biggest pro I would say it's the propane compatibility, especially for people that don't use this inverter on daily basis. The other biggest pro for me, it was how much power I would get to run most essential appliances at the house, in case hurricane knocks out the power. I tested the generator while breaking the engine for 5 hours and found out that I can easily run portable AC, full size fridge, coffee maker, microwave and fans all at the same time. I was impressed. Definitely recommend this for RV users and preppers.
Exactly What I Was Looking For
I bought this generator because I needed a generator for power outages here in Northern California and wanted the option to use gasoline or propane. I love that it has wheels and is easily moved. It's powerful enough to run everything the family needs during outages.
Started right out of the box, after I added oil of course. On propane I'm getting at least 14 hours of run time. Since I live an area with regular power outages this generator does a great job. It's quiet and very easy to use. My only complaint is there is no hour meter to help me gauge when maintenance is due. It makes no sense that Champion couldn't of added something as necessary as an hour meter. Great product overall and I tell everyone that asks what kind of generator I have.
First impression: Pretty Good!
Started right up on propane. I don't plan on using gas too often so I love the duel fuel option. Electric start will be great. Arrived a bit damaged but that's a shipping issue. Seems cosmetic. Lighter than I thought. Wife and I easily move it around. Flip up handle seems really sturdy. Easily powered RV unit and air conditioner. Curious to the 14 hours on a full LP tank. I'd just used on a new tank and it seemed to drain much further than expected. Noise was also louder than expected on LP but economy mode is really quiet. If you have the space for a larger generator when traveling this is a great option!
Went with Champion because of reputation
I have purchased two 3400 Watt inverter generators and a parallel kit to power my new RV. One unit is duel fuel and the other has a remote start feature. I have had occasion to need to call Champion support and was very impressed with their obvious desire to help. Top notch experience. 5 hr. break in on each unit, oil change and then setup on a 100degree day to run appliances on my RV. Had one unit die under load and I was upset until I realized I had just fueled it about half full and it ran out in hour 4 of the 6 hour runtime I had planned. Overall I am VERY pleased with my investment, but graded 4 star as I reserve this rating for perfection. One con is that unit camp with dead batteries in remote. Nothing in manual about remote....no battery info, no instructions on reprogramming remote...Need more detailed manual and oh. When are manufacturers going to make second and third language sections of manuals detachable?
Great little generator!
We lose power in our neighborhood at least once a year, usually for several days. Have borrowed generators in the past but finally needed to break down and get one of our own. Very happy with this tidy little unit. Solid, but not real heavy. Wheels and handle make it easy to get in and out of the shed. Inverter makes it much more quiet, and lasts longer if we're not drawing too much. This one is enough to keep my fridge freezer running, TV and wifi, and fish tanks. May invest in a second, and the para link, to try to run hot water and heat/ac. Definitely happy with it.
Perfect - beats my Yamaha 2400's
I have a pair of Yamaha 2400's that I have been running in parallel for 10 years. They come in at about 75 pounds each, and it is getting tougher to lug them both around in my truck bed. I've been reading some very positive reviews on the Champion dual fuel 100263, so I gave it a shot. Absolutely thrilled with the Champion - it outperforms my pair of Yamaha's hands-down. I was able to run everything, and I mean everything, on my 50 amp travel trailer. I was able to run the 15K AC and microwave at the same time, and even the 15K main AC AND 13.5k bedroom AC on low fan setting. I'm beyond happy!
RV Camping Easy setup and run
We've been waiting a long time to make this purchase. Lot's of research and too much analysis! The dual fuel option pushed us over the edge on our decision. Lot's of great reviews also. Looking forward to many years of camping with the comforts of home that this the Champion will provide.
I use this to power our 5th wheel whem boondocking. The ability to run purely on propane and save the gasoline stink and carburettor and engine degradation of a gas run machine. Quiet enough to keep frields with neighbors.
Works right out of the box
Just received the generator and started the break-in. The instructions were easy and after adding oil and connecting the battery the generator started right up. I bought this for my RV and with the included 30 amp receptacle, connecting is a breeze. I also love the dual fuel option so I can use the spare propane cylinder on the RV and not need to carry gasoline.
So far so good:)
Works as planned. Runs out 1500 AC and microwave at same time. As long as AC is running before microwave since a surge is needed to start up AC. I'm not good with it on gas since it ALWAYS has to be fresh high octane fuel to run. If left in tank for any amount of time it becomes stale gas and won't run so keep this in mind. Always have propane available just in case. We go out in our camper sparingly thus gas isn't a good choice for us. It's heavy, 100 lbs I think. Must be strong to lift it into truck or on a cargo rack.
I'm very happy with my Champion Inverter/Generator
I am very happy with my Champion and although it has been tested and broken in (for ~5 hours), I have yet to use it during a power-outage situation (but I'm sure it'll be soon). I specifically looked for one that could run on Propane (along with gas) given it's easier to maintain and store. I looked for one that was one of the quietest on the market and this definitely delivered versus other ones I had experience with. Finally, I made sure it had the power I needed to drive my refrigerator, and then a few random items during an outage; I was not looking to power 50% of my house or a large quantity of devices/appliances. Given all this, it delivers, is easy to maintain, easy to store, and I couldn't be happier. It has brought a sense of calm going into the seasons where PG&E is likely to cut off power.
run it for five hours to break it in . I did run the a.c. Unit on my camper after an hour of run time so it would have a load on it. Changed the oil after the five hour run ,and ran it just a short wile after that . I like having it able to run on propane as it is safer to store.all and all I am happy with r so far.
A lifesaver after Hurricane Laura!
Main use is for back-up power supply following Louisiana storms. Also, use to power a freestanding exterior work shed. Light enough to move around without back-breaking effort. Strong enough to support several items including fridge and portable a/c. Gentle enough for fragile electronics such as laptop, etc.
Insurance for Bad Times
This Champion 3400 dual fuel generator fits all my needs. It has a relatively small footprint; it's features include propane power, 12v USB output, manual and electric start, decent wheels with handle, quiet operation, and economy mode for fuel efficiency. It started right up when tested and is now, on float charge, ready for any PG&E power shutdown. The Champion is my peace of mind insurance against the stress of potential and real loss caused by prolonged electrical power outage.
