Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo #4 Medium Acrylic Yarn, Neon Stripe 10oz/283g, 482 Yards

It's 4-worsted weight yarn. The color has matched perfectly with some two year old yarn of the same color. It works well, I commonly use a J (5.75mm) hook because I tend to crochet fairly tightly, to get proper gauge on my projects. This works well with that. I also use this weight and brand yarn for 7 count plastic canvas work with a number 18 tapestry needle (same size but cheaper than yarn needles). This works well for coverage with half stitch as well as a full cross stitch. One more use is on knitting looms of fairly narrow peg spacing. It fills well whether knitting ribbing or plain knitting. Take care about twist and use a D Boye for the backwards stitches on ribbing and a loom pick for the knit stitches, you do have to pay attention about splitting the yarn when picking up with a pick. In the early 2000's, the longtime maker of this yarn for Red Heart went out of business and there were some issues with a replacement manufacturer. The problems with icky stiff, bleeding color, (the black was notorious and had to be washed before using), is long gone. The introduction of no dye lot has stabilized (I do have one skein of a blue that was different than the same color three years later, that issue has also disappeared). The yarn has a few more internal joins than in the past, and a little more variation in diameter, usually near the joins. Overall it's still a good value for the money. I do order it online because my stores that I can get to are often out of stock. I recommend this yarn, having started my first big project with this brand in 1972. It's my go to yarn, for crafting and making larger items.

I love the color, the yarn is easy to work with. and will make a beautiful sweater! the only thing I did not like is, so far using 2 skeins, each one had several points where they were tied from breaking before winding. I tried to hide them , but I know they are there. otherwise, it is good color and easy to work.
