Red Heart Super Saver® Jumbo™ 4 Medium Acrylic Yarn, Paddy Green 14oz/396g, 744 Yards

Red heart brand acrylic yarn is a good "all purpose yarn". I'm not sure why some colors in this brand tend to feel softer than others-seems like they should feel the same. However it washes well and you can't feel any difference after laundering. This JUMBO skein is twice as much yarn as the regular Super Saver size. I'm using it to crochet a blanket

After the change from a Canadian manufacturer of this brand about 2003, the quality had decreased some. It still works up well. It has more joins than before, and it takes more care to not split the yarn while working. The no dye lot solid colors hold a consistent match of shade between skeins made a few years apart. It feels good, softness yes, and consistent 4-weight worsted thickness and weight. Pumpkin is a good shade to use if orange is your school colors. I've been using Red Heart Super Saver for 50 years, mostly crochet, knitting loom, and plastic canvas 7-count, 1 over 1 , cross stitch. With crochet hook (and I tend to crochet tight) I tend to use a J (5,75mm hook). I don't go finer than an H(5mm) with this yarn. Knitting loom 3/8” to 5/8” peg placement. Cross stitch on 7 count plastic canvas, %2318 tapestry needle. (18 tapestry has a dull point and are cheaper than yarn needles) Storage, two 14 oz skeins will fit in a two gallon ziplock bag, buy brand name freezer for durability. This yarn is dye-fast, and washes up well. Suggest Woolite laundry soap, cool water, gentle cycle, lay flat on a screen or mesh surface to dry. Afghans, ski caps, mittens, scarves, and anything crocodile stitch, works up well.
