I wanted to use this as a safer alternative to a slicer / grater with open blades so our family could make thin potato slices for frying potato chips. This product rakes up a little more space for storage but its performance is excellent. It is easily adjustable, has a stable base, and safe to use. The materials and build feel sturdy and precise. The catch bin is convenient as well. The cleaning brush included with the slicer made cleaning a bit easier. It makes quick work of potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage, celery, etc. Fresh vegetables clear the cutter without clogging. Overall we are very satisfied with this purchase.

I like the ease of putting this together and taking it apart. I want to make sweet potato fries when I figure out how to do that. I have sliced cucumbers and celery and it worked great. Slices are evenly cut. No worries of cutting my fingers. The base is very sturdy when cutting and does not move around
