There were a few upgrades for these tabletop ice makers. Pros: 1. self-cleaning - new 2. size- fits better on my shelf. Maybe 3" less deep. Less bulky allowing me to handle it much easier. Any reduction in bulk or weight is positive. The additional handle was a big plus for this old woman! Maker's interior seems to be same size or just as easily managed as previous brands/models. 3. Simpler control panel. Ice size options is for Large cubes only. 4. Of the 4 different brands I've had, this is much, much quieter. That was very annoying with the others. 5. Drain plug- location and ease of use - I easily rinsed and drained my new machine. 6. Basket design is easily manipulated. Comes with an Ice scoop. 7. THE HANDLE so much easier to transport. Cons: 1.It does not refill it's water reservior itself. 2.I does not put the ice into an icebucket for me. I'm just being silly on these Cons. I have NO CONS. I am thoroughly satisfied with this product. The price is nice! I've used this machine for two weeks plus. I will update this review if there are significant changes.

Make 9 pieces about every 8 minutes. That's plenty enough for my wife. She loves the crunchy ice she can chew. We use the jugs of water you see in the photo to refill it. If the ice melts it just drains into the holding reservoir for reuse. It includes the basket and the small scoop. There is an optical sensor you'll see near the upper left corner of the basket which lets it know when the basket is full, with an ice full indicator on top. It also has an add water indicator on top when it's time to refill. After adding water when the indicator is lit, there is a slight delay before it realizes water has been added. You can easily get around that by switching the power button off and back on.
