As a mom of a 12-week-old, I’ve been really impressed with the Eris One Hand Playard overall. It feels like a more elevated and durable version of a traditional pack and play. One of my favorite aspects is the color, it blends seamlessly with my furniture instead of standing out as an eyesore, which makes a big difference since baby gear took over my space. The sensory features are a really nice touch and make it unique. The mobile was something my husband especially thought was cool, and the ability to control lights and sounds through an app adds convenience. While my baby wasn’t particularly interested in the lights, the sound feature worked really well for soothing her, especially at bedtime. It even came in handy while traveling since we didn’t need to bring a separate sound machine. I also really appreciate the 2-in-1 functionality. Being able to use it as both a bedside bassinet for a newborn and later as a playard makes it feel like a worthwhile investment. Switching between the two modes is simple with the zip on system, although I did find the initial setup of the bassinet and velcro components a bit tedious. I had to keep referencing the instructions. The one hand setup and fold is easily my favorite feature. I love that it doesn’t require assembling multiple pieces each time. Another thoughtful detail is the zip-open mesh side panel, which allows you to access your baby without having to bend all the way down, something I’ve really appreciated postpartum because my back was in so much pain from carrying my baby and baby gear. The mesh sides and breathable mattress also add peace of mind by promoting airflow. The only real drawback for me is the weight. It is quite heavy and not very travel friendly, especially as someone petite, so lugging it around can be a bit of a task. For home use it has been a great addition and feels like a well-designed product that I would recommend, however I would not recommend it for travel.
