My 9 year old and I put this together in about an hour and a half. the instructions are very good and easy to follow. I would recommend a power drill to drill in the bed slats, but that's all. Highly recommend this bed, especially for a smaller kid's bedroom (hers is 10×10) where you need some extra storage. I sewed a decorative curtain to hang around the base of the bed so we can hide all her toys/storage/clutter, and now she has so much more floor space for playing. Perfect bed; she loves it!

Perfect for what i was looking for for my 5 year old to create additional space in his smaller bedroom. Easy to assemble and nice to switch what end you want or in our case need to have the ladder. Sturdy enough for an adult to climb up and change the sheets, although I really suggest using the wall anchors as without them it does shake when moving around on the bed.
