Mainstays 2-Slice Toaster with 6 Shade Settings and Removable Crumb Tray, Black

This is a nice basic toaster. It is very lightweight and I like the white matte look. My minor complaints are that the power cord is rather short, if you don’t have counter space available right next to an outlet that might be a concern for you. My other thought was that I wish the knob for choosing the cook time had notches or was a little more secure, it feels a little flimsy to me. But overall the toaster has a nice look to it and works well. I made toast and an English muffin and they both were perfectly toasted. I also like that it has the crumb catcher tray at the bottom that you can remove and empty any crumbs for easier cleaning.

I bought this as a replacement for my last Walmart brand toaster, which lasted about eight years. I purchased this in mid-August, and it's now mid-October. I use it a few times each week at the lowest setting. I've included a picture to show that the plastic is melting. This is something that's been happening gradually with each use, and that's concerning. I'm not even old yet, but I can say with confidence that they just don't make things like they used to. Flimsy is one thing, but a possible fire hazard is inexcusable.
