Tailgate Decals(1000+)

The main difference comes down to how they're used and applied. Decals are typically made from vinyl and designed for transferring images or graphics onto surfaces like tailgates, often using a backing and transfer tape. Stickers are usually smaller, have adhesive on one side, and can be peeled and stuck directly onto a surface. Decals are popular for larger, more permanent designs, while stickers are great for quick, smaller decorations. Both can add personality to your truck, but decals are often chosen for their durability and custom look.

1. Clean the area: Wash and dry your tailgate to remove dust and oils.
2. Position the letters: Use masking tape to mark where each letter will go, ensuring they're straight and evenly spaced.
3. Peel and stick: Carefully peel off the backing and press each letter onto the tailgate, smoothing out air bubbles as you go.
4. Apply pressure: Use a soft cloth or squeegee to firmly press the letters down.
5. Let it set: Avoid washing your truck for 24 hours to help the adhesive bond well.

Always follow the specific instructions included with your decal kit for best results.

In most areas, it's perfectly fine to add decals to your truck, especially on the tailgate or windows. However, it's important to make sure your decals don't block your view or cover important information like license plates or safety markings. Local laws can vary, so it's a good idea to check your state's vehicle regulations if you're unsure. Choosing decals designed for automotive use can also help avoid issues with removal or residue.

Decals can peel or bubble for a few reasons:

• Surface prep: If the tailgate isn't cleaned properly before application, dirt and oils can prevent the decal from sticking well.
• Temperature: Applying decals in extreme heat or cold can affect the adhesive.
• Moisture: Trapped water or air during installation can cause bubbles.
• Wear and tear: Exposure to car washes, sun, and weather can eventually cause edges to lift.

Taking your time with installation and following the product instructions can help minimize these issues.

To choose the right size tailgate decal, start by measuring the width and height of your tailgate's flat area.

• Consider how much of the tailgate you want covered—some prefer full wraps, while others like smaller accents.
• Check the product details for sizing options and compare them to your measurements.
• Remember to leave a small border around the edges for easier application and a clean look.
