Choosing the right push mower depends on your yard size, terrain, and personal preferences. Here are a few things to consider:

• Yard Size: For smaller lawns, a compact mower is usually easier to maneuver. Larger yards may benefit from a self-propelled model to reduce effort.
• Power Source: Decide between gas, battery, or corded electric. Battery and corded options are quieter and require less maintenance, while gas mowers can handle tougher grass.
• Cutting Width: A wider deck covers more ground quickly, but a smaller deck is better for tight spaces.
• Features: Look for adjustable cutting heights, mulching, bagging, or side discharge options to match your needs.

Gas and electric mowers each have their own advantages. Here’s a quick breakdown:

• Gas Mowers: Typically offer more power and longer run times, making them suitable for larger or tougher lawns. They require fuel, oil changes, and more maintenance.
• Electric Mowers: Available in corded and battery-powered versions. They’re quieter, lighter, and easier to start. Battery models offer cordless convenience, while corded models need an outlet nearby. Maintenance is generally simpler, but run time may be limited by battery life or cord length.

Regular maintenance helps keep your push mower running smoothly. Here are some general tips:

• Clean the Deck: After each use, remove grass clippings and debris from the underside to prevent buildup.
• Check the Blade: Inspect for dullness or damage and sharpen or replace as needed for a clean cut.
• Battery Care: For battery mowers, charge batteries after use and store them in a cool, dry place.
• Gas Mowers: Check oil levels, replace spark plugs, and use fresh fuel as recommended by the manufacturer.

Always follow the safety guidelines in your mower’s manual.

Push mowers can be used on uneven terrain, but some models handle it better than others. Here’s what to keep in mind:

• Wheel Size: Larger rear wheels can make it easier to navigate bumps and slopes.
• Self-Propelled Feature: This can reduce effort on hilly or uneven lawns.
• Adjustable Height: Being able to change the cutting height helps avoid scalping high spots.

Take your time and use caution on slopes to maintain control and safety.

Replacement parts like blades, batteries, and chargers are often available at Walmart online or in-store. To find the right part:

• Check your mower’s manual for compatible part numbers.
• Search Walmart’s website using your mower’s brand and model.
• Visit the store’s outdoor power equipment section for common parts and accessories.

If you’re unsure, store associates can help you locate the correct items for your mower.
