Choosing the right COB work light depends on how and where you plan to use it. Consider these factors:

• Brightness: Look for lumens that match your needs—higher lumens mean brighter light.
• Portability: If you need to move around, a compact or foldable design is handy.
• Mounting Options: Magnetic bases or hooks can help with hands-free use.
• Power Source: Rechargeable models are convenient, while battery-powered ones may be better for long jobs without charging access.
• Durability: Check for water or dust resistance if you’ll use it outdoors or in tough conditions.

Review product details to find the best fit for your projects.

Many COB work lights are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, but it’s important to check the product’s specifications. Look for features like an IP54 or higher rating, which means the light is resistant to dust and splashes. While these lights can handle typical outdoor conditions, avoid exposing them to heavy rain or submerging them in water. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for safe use, and store the light indoors when not in use to help extend its lifespan.

Most rechargeable COB work lights come with a USB charging cable. To recharge:

1. Connect the cable to the charging port on the light.
2. Plug the other end into a USB power source, like a wall adapter or power bank.
3. Look for an indicator light that shows charging status—this may turn green or off when fully charged.

Charging times can vary, so check the user manual for details. Avoid overcharging and unplug the light once it’s fully charged to help maintain battery health.

To keep your COB work light in good shape, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. If it’s rechargeable, make sure it’s turned off and not left plugged in for long periods. For lights with magnetic bases or hooks, avoid placing them near sensitive electronics or magnetic storage devices. Keeping the light clean and dust-free can also help maintain its performance over time.

COB work lights are generally safe when used as intended, but it’s a good idea to keep them out of reach of young children. The lights can get warm during use, and some models have small parts or strong magnets. Always supervise children if they’re nearby, and store the light securely after use. Following the safety instructions in the user manual can help prevent accidents and ensure safe operation for everyone in the household.
