Choosing the right size bed valance is all about matching it to your bed's dimensions and the look you want. Here’s what to consider:

• Measure your bed: Check the width and length of your bed frame (twin, queen, king, etc.).
• Drop length: Decide how far you want the valance to hang—common drops are 16" or 18". Measure from the top of your box spring or bed base to the floor for accuracy.
• Fit style: Some valances use elastic belts for easy fitting, while others are traditional wrap-around styles. Make sure the style matches your needs.

Taking these steps can help you find a valance that fits well and looks great in your space.

Installing a bed skirt can be simple with the right approach:

1. Remove bedding: Take off your mattress and any bedding for easy access.
2. Position the valance: Place the bed skirt or valance over the box spring or bed base, aligning the corners.
3. Secure in place: If it’s a wrap-around style with an elastic belt, stretch it around the base for a snug fit. For traditional styles, smooth out any wrinkles as you go.
4. Replace mattress: Carefully put the mattress back on top.

Following these steps can help your bed skirt look neat and stay in place.

Keeping your bed base valance clean helps maintain a fresh look in your bedroom. Here’s how you can do it:

• Check the label: Always read the care instructions first, as some fabrics may require gentle washing.
• Machine wash: Most polyester or cotton valances can be washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
• Air dry: To help prevent wrinkles or shrinkage, air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
• Spot clean: For minor stains, use a damp cloth and mild soap.

Regular cleaning can help your valance stay looking its best over time.

Absolutely! A bed valance is a great way to conceal items stored under your bed. Here’s how it helps:

• Coverage: The fabric drapes down from the bed base, covering the space beneath and keeping storage boxes or bins out of sight.
• Style: With various colors and patterns available, you can match your valance to your room’s decor while keeping things tidy.
• Easy access: Most valances are easy to lift or adjust, so you can still reach your stored items when needed.

This makes a bed valance both a decorative and practical addition to your bedroom.

Many modern bed skirts and valances are designed to be wrinkle resistant, especially those made from polyester or blended fabrics. Here’s what to know:

• Material matters: Satin, polyester, and certain blends tend to resist wrinkles better than pure cotton.
• Care tips: If wrinkles do appear, a quick tumble in the dryer on low or a light ironing can help smooth them out.
• Storage: Store your valance folded neatly to minimize creases when not in use.

Choosing a wrinkle-resistant option can help your bed always look crisp and inviting.
