Choosing the right size valance depends on your window's width and the look you want.

• Measure the width of your window, including any trim.
• For a gathered look, select a valance that's 1.5 to 2 times wider than your window.
• Check the length—shorter valances work well for kitchens or bathrooms, while longer ones can add drama to living rooms or bedrooms.

Always review the product's dimensions to make sure it fits your space and style preferences.

Valances can be a great choice for rooms with limited sunlight.

• They add style and softness to windows without blocking much light.
• Light-filtering or sheer valances can help brighten up a space while still providing a finished look.
• If privacy is a concern, consider pairing a valance with blinds or shades.

Valances are versatile and can enhance the appearance of any room, regardless of natural light levels.

Most valances are designed for easy installation.

• Check if your valance has a rod pocket, grommets, or tabs—this will determine the type of curtain rod you need.
• Measure and install your rod above the window frame for a taller look.
• Slide the valance onto the rod and adjust the gathers for your desired fullness.

Always follow the product's instructions for the best results and to ensure a secure fit.

Cleaning your valance depends on the fabric.

• Many can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent—always check the care label first.
• For delicate or embellished valances, spot cleaning or hand washing is often recommended.
• Let the valance air dry to help maintain its shape and color.

Regular dusting or light vacuuming can also help keep your valance looking fresh between washes.

Valances are a great option for small windows.

• They add a decorative touch without overwhelming the space.
• Shorter lengths and lighter fabrics can make a small window appear larger and more inviting.
• Valances can also be paired with blinds or shades for added privacy and style.

Consider the overall look you want to achieve and choose a valance that complements your room's decor.
