"It's a very good saw. It's replacing a 12 inch miter saw that's about 15 years old. The Skil saw is smaller than most sliding miter saws and fits in the spot I have for it. The saw slides on the tracks and the tracks are stationary. I can put the saw up against the back wall of my miter station and still slide the saw. It does everything that I need a miter saw to do. I usually work with 3/4 inch thick boards, plywood, and trim. I can now cut 1x10s for shelves in one go. It uses standard ********* inch circular saw blades that are cheaper than the 12"" blades and readily available at home centers. The quality of the build is very good. The blade and fence were square out of the box. Fit and finish are good. It comes with a standard 24 tooth blade that I replaced with a finishing grade blade. The sliding action is smooth and cuts are accurate. The price was $40-$50 cheaper than I saw advertised at other vendors - which is why I purchased it. The deal was too good to pass up."

Excellent budget saw. Bought for my fireplace mantle replacement project. This made precision cuts in the oak 2 x 8 I bought for it. With a finishing blade, it made effortless angled cuts. Mounted this on a folding Workmate project stand I have. Good match. Doesn't take up much room stored. Recommended.

Fantastic trim miter saw!!

I own the Dewalt cordless 7-1/4" miter saw and have previously owned the Kobalt corded version. I primarily purchased this Skil for small trim projects on the interior and exterior of my house flips. As of writing this review, I've owned the saw for approximately 4 hours. I've used it for 2 of those hours making many cuts in door and window casing, and chair rail so far. I'm very impressed with the features, including: The LED cut line indicator, this is a big help in lining up your blade right on your pencil line. The up front slide rails, which allow you to place the saw right up against a wall, thus is huge if you're working doing flooring in a hallway, or have limited space. The capacity of the saw for a 7-1/4 model is fantastic. The weight is another plus for me, 24.5 pounds is more than reasonable for moving the saw from room to room and job to job. The slide action is smooth. Dust collection is average, kind of typical with many miter saws. And lastly, the price is more than fair All in all, I'm impressed!!
