SVS PB-1000 Pro, 12" Driver, 820+ Watts Peak Power Ported Subwoofer - Black Ash

The SVS ordering experience was smooth and delivery was made next business day since I also live in Ohio where SVS is ships from. My initial choice was an SB-1000 which I kept for two weeks and found it lacking to my personal preference for lower Bass while watching TV and Movies. I ordered the PB-1000 pro and contacted customer service to return the SB-1000 pro. The SVS customer service was great setting up the return process. Once they received the SB-1000, SVS credited me for the purchase price the same day._x000D_ _x000D_ When I received the PB-1000 and replaced the SB-1000, my ears noticed in my opinion lower bass while listening to Music as well as TV and movies. That should be expected when moving from sealed to ported subwoofers. What really surprised me is when I played music and I compared the Bass while switching from ported to sealed modes with the SVS app. After inserting the supplied port plugs and switching to sealed mode, I did not notice a difference in Bass performance between what the SB-1000 sounded like and the PB-1000 in sealed modes._x000D_ _x000D_ In my opinion you get the best of both worlds with a PB-1000. Sealed mode for music and ported mode for TV and movies. Overall SVS subs are well built and the SVS app makes it easy to tweak it to your room requirements or switch from ported to sealed modes. Maybe in the future another SVS ported sub will end up in my possession.

Bought two of these to replace a 10-year-old SVS PB-1000 (non-pro) that I loved after we built a dedicated home theater in the basement hoping for a bit more oomph and to fill in some dead spots. For reference, our room volume is around 1800cu ft and fully enclosed and these things pound together especially after tweaking placement and EQ using REW. Mostly used for movies and gaming, where bass hits are excellent! Lightning strikes feel like they're in the room with you. Music these perform admirably as well using some test tracks like On My Level and Partition with tight, controlled bass that never feels muddy and transitions well. These more than adequately fill the room and I can't see myself needing a bigger or more powerful sub for out set up. Definitely recommend!
