Easy to use.
This is easy to use and finds your location very quickly. My previous GPS was a Garmin i purchased 20 years ago and I used it a lot and I liked it. I upgraded due to the solar charging on this one. I am glad I did. It charges well and keeps track of how many days of battery you currently have. Mine started at 5 days and ended at 6 by the end of the day so it clearly charged more. It was a sunny day. It has all the basic functions of any other GPS and seems to find the satellites very quickly. About 5 minutes when I first turned it on at home and then less than a minute after that (about 200 miles away). Faster than my old one. I suggest getting a backpack tether for it. It will allow you to keep it on your backpack shoulder strap while you hike which allows it to charge better.

Solar power and super easy to use.
I bought this eTrex Solar because I'll be doing quite a bit of international travel in the next couple of years. I thought it would make it easier and I won't have to rely on my phone or batteries. It is super user friendly and easy to learn. It's perfect for what I need!
