Good, not excellent (so far)

I bought this FitBit Charge 2 as a last effort with FitBit. I have had two disappointing experiences with them so far. My first Charge HR battery life was only 3 days initially, then dropped to less than 1 day after 14 months. It was advertised at 5 days battery life. The replacement Charge HR battery life was always 5 days, but after a year the strap portion started coming unglued, and finally broke at the intersection with the clock section. At $149 per unit, it should last longer. I expect a 5+ year life out of such a product. So as a last ditch effort before I switch to Apple Watch, I bought this Charge 2 two days ago. So far it is an upgrade in both looks and features from the Charge HR. However, the first night gave me full Sleep Stages analysis, but the second night it did nothing. It just recorded the time I went to sleep and the time I got up, nothing in between (see photo of the log). I don't know the reason, and need to solve it, because tracking sleep quality is important to me. Therefore, I'm cautiously giving it 4/5, and will edit it up or down based on my findings.

Fits great.

Love this Fitbit. Does just what it says. Great motivator.
I had fitbit charge hr til it stop working. I love these since it tracks sleep, heart rate, etc... Just the app is very easy to use.

Motivation! Motivation! Motivation!

I am really liking my Fitbit Charge 2. I find it to be a very motivational device. I love the reminders to move because I sit for too many hours each day at a desk. The reminders prompt me to take a break and walk around, which is good for both my physical and mental health. I am a very active person who takes many fitness classes, but a few months ago suffered an injury that sidelined me for a while. As I am getting back to my usual routines, I love tracking my progress and amount of activity. I compete with myself to meet my daily goals and find those it very reinforcing and rewarding when my Fitbit celebrates those accomplishments. I like being able to see my heartrate and the quality of my sleep (though not sure how accurate that is). I haven't connected to any friends on challenges, though my daughter thought we should do a challenge so we'll see. I also considered the Apple Watch, but it felt too big (and expensive). I thought it would get in the way during workouts. The Fitbit Charge 2 is the right size for me and is a great tool to enhance my well-being.

A bit fit.

This is the first and only activity tracker I have had. I find it's good for measuring activity according to several variables (time, distance, heart rate, etc) although it seems inaccurate by some 10-20%. Since it is likely to be inaccurate consistently, you can still measure your performance today relative to yesterday and last week. The various badges and awards you are given when you achieve your goals are childish. I don't need to be told "way to go" when I complete a workout. Who does? The device will not measure activity on a spin bike. I have tried every option (run, workout, spin, etc) and the readings are significantly lower than what I see on the bike computer. The model I have, the Charge 2, cannot be used for swimming. As swimming and spinning are two of my fitness activities, the tracker is of limited use to me. So far, I have not been able to get a measure of sleep despite following instructions. Overall, this is an expensive way to track what you probably have been tracking pretty accurately all along without the tracker.
