Good stool for hip replacement recovery

The basic design is good for a person recovering from hip replacement, if you are not too short. At 5'-7" tall I use the lowest setting, and can touch the floor with my toes with heels slightly off the floor. The front edge of the seat is 21 1/2" off the floor at that setting (probably 21" when you are sitting on it). The legs adjust in 1" increments to increase the height up to 6" more. The upholstery is a very thin membrane of some kind stretched over the foam and heat sealed. Time will tell if it is durable enough. This is not what you should buy if you want comfort. The seat is only 13.5" wide and 11" deep. My 170 lbs totally compresses the foam, and I feel like I am sitting on a little board. Some have had trouble adjusting the legs. Here is a method. Estimate how many inches (holes) you need to change the height. Turn the stool upside down. Grip the two pins of a leg between thumb and forefinger and squeeze while holding the foot with the other hand and twisting slightly until the pins pull into the tube. Push (or pull) the foot until the pins reach the desired hole, then twist the foot back until the pins pop out the hole. Mine arrived with the hardware strewn throughout the box. There was a tiny zip-lock bag for the hardware, sealed, but with a slit across it. The front leg assembly had an orange stain that I was able to remove by rubbing it with toothpaste.

good kitchen stool

I like to cook & have to stay off of my feet. I also have to wash dishes, chair is great for that too. perfect height to wash & cook

Good choice for adjustable chair

Light, easy to adjust, easy to move, sturdy, well made
I bought this for my mother a few months ago. She loves it. She uses it in the kitchen as she cannot stand for long periods at a time. I put some felt on the bottom of the legs so she could push it around in the kitchen. Very easy to assemble and the adjustable legs are a very good feature.

Solid Assisted Independent Living Device

Very pleased with Drive Medical Kitchen Stool, have been using in kitchen (cooking, dishes, etc) for a few weeks. I'm 6'1, 280-290 lbs, the seat is sturdy, though limited cushion. With side grab bars, helps with using stool to sit, and as balance when on my feet without armcrutches. Wii be buying a seat cover to extend life of seat, the legs adjust easy if you are familiar with adjustable canes, or crutches. For the puce, the quality is well above average for assisted independent living medical device.
