I will usually try to use generic or Great Value options with expensive items like these filters. Well, I've tried a few different brands and it's best to just bite the bullet and give 'em the smackeroos for these filters. All of the others I've tried filter slowly, don't last very long, and don't get rid of off tastes as well as the Brita brand.

Better than the imitators! Get the 3 pack if you can to save money. Here's another tip: You can rinse these filters out when they start to slow down, if you are gentle. Tap it on the side of the sink while holding it upside down and turning it slowly, under gently running water. Takes about 5 minutes and then it's good for another 2 months!
