Even though neither mom nor I are diabetic I have wanted to try wearing socks like these for quite some time. This was mainly due to the fact that we both lead relatively sedentary lifestyles. Mom is mostly wheelchair bound and my work involves being in front of the computer and answering telephone calls for almost eight hours. Though my mom does try to move out of her wheelchair to elevate her feet, her ankles and feet would tend to swell by the end of the day. Of course, this would mean constriction caused by any socks even when she wore low cut socks. Her primary care physician suggested that she wear compression stockings but it was too cumbersome for her to put these on by herself even with the use of her dressing aids. From the very first day, she was thrilled stating that they were easy to put on, extremely comfortable and they didn’t cause the same level of indentation as her other socks. I too noticed all of these aspects when I wore a pair and the best part was that they kept their shape. Usually when I wear socks they are bulky and hot or thin and do not keep my feet warm.
