This was ready to use right out of the box. It came with sticks, and that's it. However, we knew this accepts all types of sugars and even crushed candy, we had loads of granulated sugar on hand so we used the scoop the machine came with and started making fun spun sugar immediately. We found colored and flavored sugars and tried those and they worked great too. Clean up was a breeze, and everything fit back into its original box for easy storage. This little thing is fun!
