Sturdier than I expected. I needed the storage without it looking like storage. The only drawback is the location of the lock as it could hit the back of someone's legs if sitting on it. I did not install the latches for this reason. I read another review about things not aligning properly, I almost assembled it incorrectly as well, but then switched it around to fit correctly without a problem.
