FRIGIDAIRE FFRA051ZA1 17" Window Air Conditioner 115V WHITE

I just received this a few days ago. Installed it yesterday and it seems to be working fine so far. My bedroom is 12 x 12 and I just needed some extra cooling power for the summertime. It seemed to churn out cold air right away just fine. Admittedly, I have not seen how it runs long-term just yet. Installation was relatively simple and straightforward. In purchasing a window unit online, one of the most frustrating aspects was reading all the reviews and not knowing which were accurate. I'm sure that people encounter different issues with different units and whatever. One of the most consistent complaints that I saw across most window units was that it does not cool properly, doesn't seem to be an issue here so far. The other complaint that I was seeing regularly across most window units was that they tend to break and die shortly after purchase. To protect my investment, I did purchase the Walmart protection plan for three years for around $24 or $25 extra. Also, there is an insert in the box where you can purchase an extra warranty through Frigidaire for 3 years, even paying in installments for what I believe was a total of about $30 extra. I guess it can't really hurt to take such precautions with an appliance that seems to consistently have such problems no matter the brand. I'm sure that the longevity of the unit has a lot to do with the way it is handled and treated and how much it is run, but it would seem to me that if you subject it to basic use and it still breaks, a protection plan or warranty ought to protect you. Hopefully that helps someone select a unit with less confusion. I can't say it's going to last forever, I don't really expect it to, but that's what warranties and protection plans are for. If you get it and it isn't kicking out cold air, probably just exchange it for a different one. But it seems to function just as expected.

Works really well in my bedroom. Definitely happy with my purchase.
