I had the dirt devil version of this for a year and dropped it 5ft and it broke so I got this one cause I've come to depend on the convenience of being able to clean up cat messes so easily, so this version is greatly improved over the dirt devil model, the motor, stand, filter, and runtime (I think because of new motor efficiency not better battery) are all better, oh on low it's more quiet and on high I think it's a little more powerful than the DD, so yeah, for 20$ this is a no brainer and hugely convenient, not for heavy duty applications
