Assembly mostly very easy. Takes two people due to the weight, which is not a bad thing. Only annoying detail is getting the pegs that hold up the shelves into the holes. Very tight. Shelves and case are all wood, solid, and very nice. Backing is better than most but still a tad on the flimsy side relative to the rest of the unit, but not problematic. Shelf spacing is good, and flexible, although you probably only want to set the shelf distances once because it's hard to get the metal pegs out once you've jammed them in.

I love the style and sturdiness of these shelves. They set the tone of my office/library space and make a fantastic backdrop in my Zoom meetings. Easy to assemble, but would have been easier with 2 people since they are real wood and not particle board.
