The picture makes them look thicker than they are. However, although very thin, they work fine for just getting out of the bath or shower. They are also very long. I wish they were thicker. I bought the mauve and the color is lovely, and the towels are very soft, but the only problem, if this is a problem, is that the towels are HUGE, more like beach towels. That's okay with me. It's just that they don't look real great in the bathroom because they drape onto the floor. I did a wash with them and they did not shrink or bleed.
