    A very nice shelving unit. Yes, it is a little darker than pictured, but that was in my favor, I wanted it to be similar to my TV console. Has a quality look to it, the shelves are a nice depth. It took about an hour to put together (not the 10 minutes the instructions say!) There was some off-gassing, because I started to feel a little dizzy at the end of the assembly. The only complaint I would have about the construction is I wish it had the back cross-braces, it is a little wobbly side to side. It does come with the ability to anchor it to the wall with a pull-tie, which I will do as soon as I decide the exact placement. You definitely would not want to have it standing away from a wall.

    Color of wood much darker

    The color of the wood is much darker than pictured. It is more of an oak color, rather than a birch color.
