I have a step up to get into my laundry room and I'm being a little careful and not lifting it by the handle though, not sure how sturdy it is. The capacity for larger items like towels and bed linen is great or the occassional trip to laundry mat will hold several loads and be easy to move with the wheels and pull handle, I love it. PS one arrived with damage to the lid and hubby wanted to keep it and put a t rash bag in it for large items in kitchen or carport
