Super soft material, could be used just as a blanket but the heating element in it is a super plus. Warms up quickly. Even with alternative power sources. I use this with the Home Depot Ryobi dc to ac power inverter which lasts for 3 hours, on level 3, to lazy to get on my knees to plug things in.
