These sprays feature a comfort tip with a wider finger pad to reduce fatigue caused by continuous spraying. Not for use on galvanized metal.

Instructions

. Rust-Oleum® Multicolor Textured. Read all directions before beginning project. Painting Conditions: Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to surfaces that, when heated, exceed 200°F (93°C) or galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy, dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist. Preparation: Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Clean with a soap and water, rinse and let dry. Warning! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. Lead is toxic. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Priming: Use of a Stops Rust® Primer provides added corrosion protection, superior adhesion and hiding and is recommended for bare wood and metal. A base coat of a similar color will aid in coverage. Painting: Shake can vigorously for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle Do not strike can. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 10-16" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Dry & Recoat Times based on 70°F-50% relate humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to touch in 30 minutes, to handle in 1-2 hours and fully dry in 24 hours. Primers may be top coated immediately. Apply a second coat within 1 hour or after 48 hours. Clean-up: When finished spraying, clear spray valve by turning can upside down and pushing spray button for 5 seconds. Clean-up wet paint with Xylol or mineral spirits. Throw away empty can in trash pick up. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor. Clogging: If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem.

Safe Handling Instructions

CONTAINS: ACETONE AND XYLENE. Vapor harmful. May affect the brain or nervous system causing dizziness, headache or nausea. Causes eye, skin, nose and throat irritation. Do not puncture, strike or incinerate (burn) container. Exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sun may cause bursting. Do not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120°F (48°C). NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the content may be harmful or fatal. VAPORS MAY IGNITE EXPLOSIVELY. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights and turn off stoves, heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. Ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headache or dizziness, wear respiratory protection. (NIOSH approved) or leave the area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. FIRST AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. I recommend this if you are looking for texturing.

Painted over plastic planter made to look like terra cotta and really likes the result. I also painted over glass vases to match with the Native American decor I have and it makes it look like the glass vase is pottery. I pre-painted the glass a similar beige sand color that was a primer and paint in one then after it dried, I applied this over textured paint over it. Then lightly added a slightly darker beige color from a distance giving an effect of true sand.
