Mainstays Countertop Ice Maker, Bullet Ice, 26 lb per 24 Hours, Soothing Grey

I have a very small kitchen, one person at a time size. My fridge does not have an ice maker and the ice trays are a pain. I purchased this one because I didn't really want to spend to much on a machine if it didn't work. My daughter has a machine but hers is different and very loud. This one is compact and is has a modern touch with some retro vibes. The design is slimmer than a coffee maker and about the same height and length as one, so very little room is taken. The size of the basket is appropriate for the machine. I actually purchased this so I could save on money instead of buying my iced mocha lattes elsewhere. This machine can be moved you just have to make sure not to turn it upside or lay it flat. I have seen some with handles, this one does not have. My only complaint is where the drain plug is, they don't want you tilting the machine more than 45 degrees yet you have to be able to find it, which is on the bottom toward the front, maybe it was just me but the plug was ridiculously hard to get out, it is a plug that is attached to a screw that has a plastic piece holding it, it took me a good 15 minutes trying to remove the dang thing, I eventually cut the plastic piece. You would think the drain plug would be on the back easily accessible, which needs to be done. I seen some reviews about the noise, honestly it isn't that noisy, the only time it is loud is when the ice is dropping.I have a portable dishwasher that is louder. when the ice drops into the basket you can wait for more or take it out and freeze it. I notice that they melt slow while sitting in the basket. I choose to take them out as soon as they drop since there is a decent amount of wait time in between bullets(that is the shape of the ice). I used a gallon size zip lock baggie to store the ice. If you are looking for an ice machine I would recommend, it is worth the price.
