This was to no fault of the manufacturer. These plates are durable and resilient, and if it wasn't for the packers throwing our boxes around and cramming them in this plate, they would have survived to see another fancy dinner date. The plate is stone ware and coated and sealed so it can handle metal silverware without scratching and its dishwasher and microwave safe. It's also well decorated and gives an expensive look at a budget price, making this set great for hosting friends and family with.
