Automatic trash can is equipped with a motion sensor inside, simply wave your hands above the infrared motion sensor field and the lid will open automatically. The wide lid opening can easily put in large garbage, no need to frequently change garbage bags, saving your time. Motion sensor trash can can also be opened and closed manually, you can press the "OPEN" button to keep the lid open and then press the "CLOSE" button to close it. The motion sensor trash can's lid closes quietly and slowly, so you can say goodbye to loud clanking noises and ensure a quiet environment. You can use it with just 4 AA batteries installed (Batteries not included). Note: The display light will illuminate red when the battery level reaches 4.8V.

Just wave your hand and it opens and then closes on its own. Four AA batteries provide the power and will last for about a year. And it has a light which activates when your batteries get low. i highly recommend this product!

I don't know if it was the angle of the picture on the page but can looked taller and slimmer, which is what drew me to it. I was somewhat disappointed in the height. My previous can was taller and I did receive as a gift so it may have been a bigger size than a 13 gallon. I was expecting a can tall like my previous one. The 13 gallon trash bags I use was a tight tight fit but using the smart ring made it work out ok. I was put off by the reviews mentioning some received dented can but that wasn't true. My can was boxed and packed very well. I will have to get use to the height because it's really a nice can and it should be big enough for me
