Safety 1ˢ onBoard Slide Infant Car Seat Featuring SafetySlide Base, Dusty Slate, Unisex

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mama of four littles, easy and lightweight car seats are so very important for my daily use. When I received the Safety First car seat, the first thing I noted was just how VERY light it was compared to some of the other infant car seats I have tried. This was a significant difference that I really appreciated especially as my baby is now 20 lbs.. The look and design was modern in a black and gray and soft material. Another of my favorite features was the hook system for placing the buckles to the side while getting the baby strapped into her seat. I don't know why all carseat systems don't have these but they are so crucial for ease of buckling. While we have not had any issues with spills or staining, it appears easy to clean. My husband said the ridged latch installation system was what sold him on this car seat. It was very intuitive, the base was very sturdy, and it was so easy to transfer between cars which is also important to us. While the slide feature was cool and VERY easy to use, I didn't feel like it made a huge difference for us in getting her in and out of the car. Please see pictures. Truthfully, it was really easy to get her out whether we used the feature or not. I really like the concept and maybe if we had her in a middle seat instead of the side, it would have been needed more. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely GIDDY writing this review for the Safety 1st Onboard Slide car seat. First of all, I'm not a first-time mom and this isn't my first car seat installation. I've done this 2 times before, and both times involved having to ask for help, plus way too much time, sweat, and grumbling to finally get it installed properly. This car seat, however, took ONE person, 10 minutes, and the easy-to-follow instructions provided. That's it!! I was so thrilled with the installation process, I would recommend this seat to all rookie parents on that note alone. Visually, the seat looks nice and modern, and it's plush and supportive on the inside. It's a very cleverly designed piece of baby gear. The base is sturdy and heavy-duty, but the car seat itself is incredibly light. It's seriously like picking up a cloud. I'm in love. The SafetySlide feature is also genius. Hear me out! In the weeks and months after having a baby, my core strength is lacking, to say the least (surely that's true for many of us) so, in the past, I've always had to rely on my back muscles while leaning into the car to hoist the heavy car seat out of the vehicle - resulting in a sore back and a good chance I'm banging my head on the way out. But, with this car seat, I can slide the seat close to my body before removing it, which is a feature I never knew I needed. No more leaning in and counting to 3, then exerting all of the lifting force my body has to offer. No more "putting my back into it"! It's so light, even with the baby in it, I can easily use my arm strength alone (which isn't anything to write home about) to lift the seat out of the car. AND I haven't banged my head on the car doorframe once! Hallelujah! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this infant car seat. I don't think I could ever go back to a traditional car seat. This has made my busy life so much easier and more enjoyable. Even my husband has marvelled and said "all other car seats are inferior", and I think that pretty much sums it all up.
