I bought this to replace a cheaper hot plate, that took several minutes to heat up before I could even use it to cook with. And this past week, we went camping and took this double burner hot plate with us, and not only did it heat up quickly, like 1 to 2 minutes give or take, it exceeded my expectations all around. And I had no issues with it smoking like other reviewers said, and it also stated on the label that it would, I still followed the instructions to turn it on to max heat to burn off any residual. I am so glad that I bought this one because it also didn't take forever to cool off when I was done cooking. It's definitely worth the money to get yourself one of these.
