Better than Kirkland long grain white rice

Overall this is an excellent rice with amzingly few broken kernels or defective kernels as compared to other brands. Therefore, I dare say it is "cleaner" than costco/kirkland rice. With costco rice, I would pour the rice kernels into the rice cooker a little bit at a time to look for discoloured or diseased kernals and then pick them out. But with this Great Value rice, I've given up sorting and just toss the whole bunch into the rice cooker due to the nearly perfect sorting process.

This product is still a good value for the money. I cook rice probably 3 or 4 times a week. It helps to stretch your meals when feeding a large family. Also has iron, thiamin, niacin and folic acid for health benefits. A good staple to have on hand.

Surprisingly great rice

I'm usually a rice snob preferring Jasmine or Basamati to plain white rice, but when we started making our own dog food, I purchased this for the value. What was surprising was I found that I preferred using this rice for all my Cajun dishes! Make sure and rinse or soak it before using though!
