Never softened up, cushion us hard as a rock, impossible to sit on for any length of time, and as don’t walk, I sit in recliner 24 hours a day. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for me, be glad to return it so you can see how inferior it is compared to first one I bought. I would appreciate refund on cushion
