IM sure it works. But it is bulky for a ten-gallon tank. My fish didn't like it either. They kept looking at me in the glass until I changed it. Now they are so happy. There are other aquarium co-op type style items in other places that are way better, with fittings designed by a fish owner named Corey and I'll leave it at that. This sits to the side and needs to be sold to someone that is a noob. I used something else because in a ten-gallon tank you need all the room you can get.

The pump was very small, much smaller and weaker than I imagined. It may be ok for a small low fountain. The clear vinyl hose was small and the lift was approx 3', but with a slower water flow than I wanted, so I returned it for a credit. The seller was fine, so IDK why this review is for the seller instead of the product.
