A triangle key is a handy tool designed to open specialized locks, like those found on electrical cabinets, meter boxes, and some utility panels. They're commonly used by maintenance workers, electricians, and plumbers to access secure areas for repairs or inspections. If you need to open a panel or cabinet with a triangular-shaped lock, a triangle key is likely what you'll need. Always make sure you have permission to access these areas and use the key safely.

Choosing the right size triangle key depends on the lock you need to open.

• Check the lock's opening or consult the equipment manual for the correct measurement (often listed in millimeters).
• Common sizes include 8mm, 9x8mm, and 12.5x8mm, but it's best to measure your lock for accuracy.
• Some sets offer multiple sizes, which can be helpful if you work with different panels or cabinets.

Yes, some triangle keys are designed for plumbing applications, especially for operating sillcocks (outdoor water spigots) or utility valves.

• Look for multi-functional keys that include a triangle shape along with other common profiles.
• These tools can help you turn water on or off in utility areas or access plumbing panels.

To keep your triangle key working smoothly,

• Wipe it down after use to remove dirt or moisture.
• Store it in a dry place, like a toolbox or tool bag, to prevent rust.
• If it gets sticky or hard to turn, a small drop of light oil can help keep it moving freely.

Replacement triangle keys are widely available at retailers like Walmart, especially in the home improvement section.

• You can find single keys or sets with multiple sizes to fit different locks.
• Check the product details to match the size and shape you need.
