Triangle screwdriver bits are commonly known as triangle bits or triangular head bits. You might also see them labeled with size codes like TA12, TA14, or TA30, which refer to the specific dimensions of the bit. These bits are designed to fit screws with a triangular recess and are often used in electronics, appliances, and tamper-resistant applications. If you're shopping for these, look for sets that mention 'triangle' or 'triangular' in the description to make sure you're getting the right type for your project.

A triangle drill bit has a tip shaped like a triangle, which sets it apart from standard round or Phillips bits. The triangular tip fits into screws or fasteners with a matching triangle-shaped slot. Some triangle bits are also designed for drilling, featuring a spear-like or spiral triangle tip for use on materials like glass, tile, or wood. These bits usually have a hex shank for easy attachment to power tools, and their unique shape helps prevent slipping during use.

Triangle bits are most often used in electronics repair, small appliances, and tamper-resistant screws. You’ll find them handy for opening battery compartments, toys, and certain home devices that use triangle screws for added security. Some triangle drill bits are also designed for drilling into materials like glass, ceramic tile, and wood, making them versatile for both DIY and professional projects. Always check the screw head or material to ensure you’re using the right bit for the job.

To choose the right size triangle bit, first check the screw or fastener you need to work with. Triangle bits come in various sizes, often labeled with codes like TA18 or TA27, which refer to the width of the triangle tip. If you’re unsure, a precision bit set with multiple sizes can be helpful. Make sure the bit fits snugly into the screw head without wiggling—this helps prevent stripping and makes your work smoother. If you’re drilling, match the bit size to the hole you need to create.

Yes, most triangle bits are designed with a 1/4 inch hex shank, making them compatible with standard electric drills and power screwdrivers. This allows for quick bit changes and secure attachment during use. When using triangle bits for drilling, make sure your power tool is set to the correct speed and pressure for the material you’re working with, such as glass, tile, or wood. Always wear appropriate safety gear and follow the tool manufacturer’s guidelines for best results.
