Choosing the right cargo strap size depends on what you're securing and your vehicle type.

• Width: Wider straps (like 2" or 4") are great for heavy loads, while narrower ones work for lighter items.
• Length: Make sure the strap is long enough to wrap around your cargo and anchor points, with a little extra for tightening.
• Weight rating: Always check the working load limit (WLL) to match or exceed your cargo's weight.

Review your needs before buying to help keep your load secure during transport.

Ratchet straps and cam buckle straps serve similar purposes but have key differences:

• Ratchet straps use a ratcheting mechanism to tighten, offering higher tension and are ideal for heavy-duty loads.
• Cam buckle straps use a spring-loaded cam to hold the strap in place, making them quicker to use but best for lighter loads.

Consider the weight and type of cargo you’re hauling to decide which style fits your needs best.

To use tie-down straps safely on your trailer:

1. Inspect straps for wear or damage before each use.
2. Secure hooks or ends to solid anchor points on both the trailer and cargo.
3. Tighten the straps evenly, avoiding twists or knots.
4. Check that the load is stable and straps are snug, but not over-tightened.

Periodically stop to check your straps during long trips, as loads can shift. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

Many cargo straps can be used for securing kayaks, bikes, or other gear, but it’s important to check the strap’s width, length, and weight rating.

• Look for straps with soft loops or padded sections to help protect your equipment from scratches.
• Make sure the strap is long enough to wrap around your gear and anchor points securely.

Always double-check compatibility with your specific items and follow safety guidelines for transport.

Proper storage helps extend the life of your cargo straps.

• Wipe off dirt or moisture before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
• Roll up each strap neatly to avoid tangles and kinks.
• Keep them in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and chemicals.

Regularly inspect your straps for signs of wear or damage before each use to help maintain their reliability.
