Stapler pins are commonly referred to as staples. You might also see them called staple wires or staple refills, depending on the packaging. They come in different sizes and types, so it's helpful to check your stapler’s instructions or the product packaging to make sure you’re getting the right kind for your needs.

Yes, stapler pins come in a variety of sizes to fit different staplers and uses.

• Standard staples are used for everyday paperwork and fit most desktop staplers.
• Mini or No.10 staples are smaller and fit compact or mini staplers.
• Heavy-duty staples are larger and designed for binding thick stacks of paper or materials.

To find your stapler pin size, look for a label or marking on your stapler, often found on the bottom or inside the staple tray. You might see numbers like 24/6, 26/6, or No.10—these indicate the staple type and size. If you’re unsure, you can also measure the length of the staple legs with a ruler or bring an old staple to the store for comparison. Checking your stapler’s manual or the packaging can also help you pick the right size.

Staple pins are used for fastening sheets of paper, documents, or even lightweight materials together.

• In offices and schools, they’re handy for organizing paperwork.
• At home, they help keep bills, recipes, or craft projects in order.
• Heavy-duty staples can even be used for light packaging or attaching materials to bulletin boards.

Not all staples fit every stapler. Each stapler is designed for specific staple sizes and types. Using the wrong size can cause jams or prevent the stapler from working properly. It’s best to check your stapler’s instructions or look for size markings to match the correct staples. If you’re ever unsure, bringing your stapler or an old staple to the store can help you find a compatible refill.
