If you don't have a cake stand, there are several creative alternatives you can try:

• Serving platters or plates: Use a large, flat plate or platter as a base for your cake.
• Inverted bowls: Place a sturdy bowl upside down and set a plate on top for extra height.
• Stacked books: Cover a few books with a clean cloth or decorative paper and use them as a riser.
• Cutting boards: A wooden or marble cutting board can add a rustic touch.

Just make sure whatever you use is stable and food-safe for your dessert display.

Absolutely! Placing a round cake on a square cake stand is a popular choice. The extra space around the cake can be used for decorative touches like fruit, flowers, or additional treats. Just make sure the stand is large enough to support the cake comfortably and is stable on your table. This setup can add a modern, stylish look to your dessert display, and it's a great way to mix shapes for visual interest at parties or events.

For serving around 25 people, a square cake that's approximately 8 inches on each side is a good choice. The exact number of servings can vary depending on how you cut the cake and how generous each slice is. If you're planning for larger portions or want leftovers, you might consider a 9-inch or 10-inch square cake. When in doubt, it's always helpful to check a cake serving chart or ask your baker for advice based on your event needs.

Square cake stands are typically referred to as "square cake stands" or "square dessert stands." You might also see them called "square cupcake towers," "tiered square stands," or "square display risers" depending on their design and intended use. These stands come in a variety of materials like acrylic, wood, or metal, and are popular for showcasing cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts at parties and events.

To clean an acrylic square cake stand, follow these steps:

1. Hand wash with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge or cloth.
2. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch the surface.
3. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft towel to prevent water spots.
4. For tough stains, a mixture of mild dish soap and water usually does the trick.

It's best not to put acrylic stands in the dishwasher, as high heat can cause warping or cloudiness. Regular gentle cleaning helps keep your stand looking clear and beautiful for every celebration.
